Falling in Love (with Colors)

This "falls" under the category of other. Yesterday a friend suggested I go up to Boreas Pass Road in Breckinridge for some awesome photo ops of fall colors. So, I went, and he was right! This is the best of over 250 pictures taken. Enjoy! And get out there!!!

This was the pic selected from hundreds to air on the CW local news station (http://www.2onthedeuce.com/) and the ABC local news station (http://www.thedenverchannel.com/).

To have it air on one station is cause for celebration, but two?!!! I did see the CW news one air it this morning, and the meteoroligist (fancy word for weather man) said he liked it because of the "early snow on Quandry Peak in the background contrasting with the bright leaves" (or something like that). He even sent me a personal email this afternoon thanking me for a great shot!

And here are some more pics:

This one is my favorite and will probably enter it into some free photo contest (if I can find one!). I love the layered look!

Until next time,
Jawa Jaka
Enjoy fall while it lasts (another week)

JDRF Walk for Diabetes

So, a few of us from Denver made the drive down to the Springs last Saturday for the JDRF Walk for Diabetes. Our garrison CO even had some patches for those who never done it before. He and a couple others actually did part of the walk, while I stayed behind with AL to cheer on the crowd. These pictures were taken by Debra Bower, the wife of one of the PPS (Pikes Peak Squad) members, and is on her facebook photo album.

I made AL a sash with his very own collection of patches just for the event.

GO, TEAM, GO!!!

Going for a walk! Even though they didn't make it all the way, I'm so proud of our guys attempting it in full gear!

The Finish Line! What a way to finish! Everyone got high-fives from a trooper!

Buckets on....

Buckets off.

So, check out Debra's facebook page and check out her photo album for the rest of the pics. She did a fantastic job as our event official photog. Thank you, Deb!!

Until next time,

CV Day 4: Means to a Greater End

On this last day of CV I spent about an hour and a half as Jawa Jaka getting photo op time. So, most of these are the jawa. Of course, a few more from the droid room as well, and a fare-thee-well salute to all who made the R2 Droid room at CV a spectacular sight to behold.

Around the droid room:

Fun with Jaka:

The Jawa Jaka Collector's Edition Action Pack (slightly used, missing parts):

And the Special Limited Edition Boba Fett Double Pack:

Great things come in small packages:

A Fond Farewell, and a toast to all those who came.
Artoo packin' up and movin' out (or heading to another great scifi con!)

Final thoughts: I can't understand the lady who posted on the astromech forums how terrible our setup/takedown, planning, events, etc was. Having gone to numerous events/cons this was the absolute best con I've ever attended!! The droid room, and the con itself, couldn't have been smoother. CV was leaps and bounds better than CIV due to Reed Productions and their attention to detail. The R2 room couldn't have been better due to all the builders and Wayne's guidance. I met a lot of people, friends that I only knew by their online board names. Now they are really part of my family. I coudn't have found a better group of people to be with, and I'm proud to call myself a member of the R2 Builders Club.
See you all at CVI!!! Can't wait....
